Howard S. Rappaport has experience in all real estate asset classes. In his 19 years with Continental Properties, Howard has been responsible for the development of more than $700 million worth of real estate, including overseeing the development of over 2,600 units of residential housing. Howard actively directs the management of 5,000 rental apartments and participates in the operational management of Continental’s commercial portfolio. He has expertise in diverse facets of the real estate industry including the sourcing and evaluation of investments, evaluation of and arranging financing, design, marketing and leasing and dispositions.
Prior to joining Continental Properties, Howard spent seven years at Hughes Hubbard & Reed, LLP, an international law firm based in New York, where he represented lenders as well as both public and private companies in a diverse range of matters including acquisitions, joint ventures and financing. While at Hughes Hubbard & Reed, he also represented the Resolution Trust Company (RTC) in its disposition of real estate-owned assets. In his role representing lenders, Howard provided counsel on workouts, foreclosures (judicial and UCC foreclosures) and asset disposition.
Howard holds a Bachelor of Arts from Columbia College, where he graduated cum laude, and a Juris Doctor from the New York University School of Law. He is admitted to the Bar in the states of New York and Connecticut.
